The Daglish One-Name Study
The Daglish one-name study looks at the surname DAGLISH, worldwide.
The name has its roots in the North East of England, in the counties of Northumberland and County Durham.
However, research using DNA seems to confirm that the DAGLISH surname is a variant of the Scottish surname DALGLEISH (with additional variants Dalgliesh and Dalglish). Confirming the link through documentary evidence remains difficult - so, for now, these Scottish names form part of a separate study. I hope that at some stage in the future these studies can be combined.

A one-name (or surname) study is a project researching all occurrences of a surname, and is not restricted to particular families or family trees. This site is one of many hosted by the Guild of One-Name Studies, whose members are engaged in similar studies of other surnames.
More information about the study can be found by clicking on the links above.
It is hoped that this website can be a useful tool for anyone with an interest in the surname, and a place for collaborative research.
